Uplift Bus Driver
Employment Type – Casual
Our Uplift bus drivers are a critical part of the Maydena Bike Park team. Responsible for getting our riders to the trails safely, our Uplift driver team have the most contact with our guests throughout the day. We are looking for fun, responsible drivers who enjoy getting to know new people. An interest in mountain biking and outdoor activities is an asset for this role.
Qualifications Required:
- Personal Passenger Vehicle Ancillary Certificate (PPV).
- Working with Vulnerable People accreditation.
- Light-rigid License (preferred)
- Minimum 19 years of age.
Guest Services Attendant
Employment Type – Casual
Our Guest Services team are the first port of call for anyone joining us at Maydena Bike Park and will set the tone for our guests’ visit. We are looking for friendly outgoing people with a passion for the outdoors to join our team for the 2026/27 season.

Head Chef
Employment Type – Full Time
The Head Chef role will oversee MBP’s three key hospitality outlets, focusing on The Patio and The Local, with The Summit generally utilised only for infrequent events. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing a fast-paced kitchen environment, which will serve several hundred guests each day during peak periods. The Head Chef will manage a team of chefs and support staff, who focus on delivering a fresh, seasonal menu, catering to a diverse customer base.
MBP will work with the Head Chef to establish a new market garden, investing in infrastructure and support staff to manage a garden that will deliver fresh, seasonal produce. This significant project will facilitate a focus on paddock to plate dining, with a strong focus on fresh, local produce.
The role will include a focus on growing high end dining events at the park’s iconic mountain top venue, The Summit, where there is significant opportunity to establish a truly world-class dining venue. A key focus will also be on growing the park’s higher end dining offering, The Local, with a focus on small plates and platters. The Local intends to establish a top regional dining experience with a focus on top quality local produce, along with tasting of local beer, wine, and spirits.

The Head Chef will report directly to the General Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership position within the kitchen
- The ability to inspire passion, enthusiasm and positivity in a team
- Experience working with a budget and rostering system
- Food safety supervisor certification, as required by local law
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and stock levels
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

Sous Chef

Food and mountain biking go hand in hand, keeping our riders and guests satisfied with delicious, fresh food is an essential part of our business. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food across our various food outlets, ensuring exceptional standards of kitchen management, cleanliness, and food safety, all while providing a positive and professional experience for both customers and colleagues. This is a unique opportunity to cook amazing food surrounded by the Tasmanian wilderness.
Duties & key responsibilities
- Assist Head Chef with delivering menus for daily operations, as well as functions around events.
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and ensuring Head Chef and Management are aware of needs.
- Manage food stores and ordering of stock as required or directed by the Head Chef.
- Preparing food for service
- Cooking to the prescribed menu as required under the direction of the Head Chef.
- Ensure that food leaves the kitchen simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely manner. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Prepare and cook food for the Bike Park cafe, The Local and Summit outlets as required.
- Being available for special functions as required from time to time.
- Perform other duties from time to time as required and directed by the Head Chef/Management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or in a similar culinary role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Line Cook

We are looking for experienced line cooks who will work with our Head Chef to continue delivering top quality food. Barista / Café Attendant
Employment Type – Casual
At Maydena Bike Park we believe that every good ride starts with a good coffee and great food. We take a lot of pride in our coffee and guest experience, and are looking for friendly, outgoing people to host our guests in our Café.
Job Responsibilities
- Providing friendly and welcoming customer service.
- Serving customers and taking orders for food and beverage items for the MBP Café, and informing customers of menu items and specials.
- Ensuring the Cafe and Beer Garden are left neat and clean both pre and post shifts.
- Maintaining a hygienically clean environment for customers.
- Opening and closing of MBP food outlets, including the opening and closing of the till and handling cash.
- Making high quality coffee / Pouring keg beers.
- Removing any used plates, cups, rubbish etc from tables and wiping down tables regularly to ensure a clean environment ready for new customers.
- Interacting with customers and assisting with any questions they may have. Feel free to ask how they are enjoying their time at MBP, which trails they are loving etc – try to make them feel welcomed and relaxed.
- Restocking of table condiments, and any stock items that need replenishing.
- Rinsing dishes and loading/unloading of the dishwasher.
- Sweeping and mopping the floors.
- Ensure health requirements are being met in conjunction with the Chef, and Food and Beverage Manager.
- Perform other duties from time to time as required and directed by Management.

Uplift Manager / Mechanic
Employment Type – Full Time Seasonal or Permanent
This key role is responsible for keeping our customers transported up the mountain as efficiently and safely as possible, across both Lower Mountain (ATV) and Summit (bus) uplift services. The Uplift Manager / Mechanic will report directly to the General Manager.
Duties & key responsibilities
- Perform mechanic duties across a range of buses, trailers, and ATV’s (including general servicing and repairs)
- Review customer bookings and roster bus drivers accordingly
- Provide training to drivers as required
- Assist with arranging hire vehicles and trailers as required
- Assist with securing PPV certification for vehicles as required
- Manage vehicle logs and records for PPV certification
- Periodically drive customers during quieter periods
Essential Requirements
- Qualified mechanic
- Minimum of one year experience working as a professional mechanic
- Light rigid vehicle license
- PPV license certification
- Able to work effectively individually and as the member of a team
Desirable Attributes:
- Diesel mechanic qualification/s
- Experience servicing excavators
- Experience in a tourism setting
Workshop Mechanic
Employment Type – Casual
At Maydena Bike Park our goal is to keep our guests riding as much as they desire. Our experienced team in the workshop is key to keeping our riders’ tires in the dirt for their entire trip. We are seeking mechanics to keep our hire fleet in great shape and our guests bikes rolling for the 2025/26 season. For more details about the position contact us below.
Job responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs to all hire fleet bikes, and ensure all bikes and equipment are always kept in excellent condition in good working order for all new customer bookings.
- Interacting with customers and assisting with customer hire bike set ups and equipment hire.
- Perform an efficient and high quality repair service for customer bikes, focusing on excellent customer service and quick turnaround times.
- Ensuring the Workshop space is clean and tidy pre and post shifts.
- Washing and servicing hire bikes.
- Providing friendly and welcoming customer service.
- Performing all other tasks in the workshop/bike shop with strong attention to detail and presentation, and ensuring the space is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Opening and closing of the till, and handling cash.
- Keeping stock replenished in the workshop retail space as required.
- Sweeping and mopping the floors.
- Perform other duties from time to time as required and directed by Management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working as a bike mechanic is desirable but not compulsory
- Comfortable working with people and setting up demo bikes
- Comfortable working in fast-paced working environment
- Love for mountain biking is a desirable attribute
Bike Instructor
Employment Type – Casual
As a Bike Instructor, you’ll deliver safe, fun, and engaging lessons for riders of all levels, following programs set by the Bike School Manager. You’ll assess rider abilities, promote proper technique and equipment use, and help create a welcoming environment.
Job responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and fun environment for all ability levels to promote the most learning possible.
- Ensuring a safe learning environment through promoting proper technique, equipment use, and an ability to assess participants skills.
- Effectively communicate with participants, colleagues, and management.
- Teaching according to established programs set by the Bike School Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:
- GSMBC or PMBI coaching qualification level 1 or 2 preferred.

Volunteer Patroller
Maydena Bike Park is looking for enthusiastic mountain bikers with medical or wilderness first aid training to join our re-designed volunteer patrol program. This is a unique opportunity to ride and explore Maydena Bike park, whilst also developing skill in hands on patient assessment, management of trauma patients and extrication.
If you are a nurse or a paramedic seeking to expand your exposure to trauma, a Nursing or Paramedic Student, or an outdoor guide with a Wilderness First aid, looking for clinical exposure, then this opportunity could be for you!
We aim to develop a team of Volunteers to assist with the events held within MBP, such as Enduro Jam and Red Bull Hardline – to name some past events. If you are unable to attend the events there are still plenty of day to day opportunities throughout the season as well.
This role provides a unique opportunity to learn about the Trainee and Pro Patroller roles within the Bike Patrol and we regularly recruit Trainee Patroller from the Volunteer Program if you’re looking to progress.
Trainee Patroller
Employment Type – Casual
Maydena Bike Park is seeking the addition of casual Bike Patrollers for the 26/2027 seasons. Our Bike patrol team provides First Aid and Extrication support for our day-to-day operations. The bike patrol team is also responsible for first aid and extrication for events that are held at MBP.
We utilise a progression pathway within Bike Patrol, we use our Volunteer Program as an opportunity to trial and learn more about this position before progressing into a Trainee Patrol role. Please reach out for a Volunteer Role initially if this position interests you.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00140) or equivalent/higher (i.e. ASPA, Bachelor of Nursing/Paramedicine). Currency is preferred, however there may be potential to refresh with MBP
- Provide Pain Management (PUAEME008) is required for all Wilderness First Aid Qualified/Registered Nurses (ASPA and Paramedicine qualified do not need this as an extra)
- Working With Vulnerable Peoples Check
Desirable Qualifications:
- Provide advance resuscitation and oxygen therapy (HLTAID015)
- Tasmanian Public Passenger Vehicle Licence (PPV)
Physical Capabilities:
- An intermediate to advanced level of Mountain Bike Skill, enabling you to comfortably access most blue trails
- Sufficient fitness to enable you to walk up steep terrain, including carrying or managing heavy and/or awkward loads
