RED BULL HARDLINE
Returning to Maydena Bike Park for the third time, Red Bull Hardline Tasmania needs little introduction. Renowned as the world’s most challenging downhill race event, Red Bull Hardline combines World Cup level downhill racing, with some of the world’s biggest jumps and drops.
This year for the first time ever, spectators will have access to the full Red Bull Hardline course, allowing attendees to witness every mind-bending feature on the infamous Maydena course, including a brand-new start section.
Maximise your Red Bull Hardline experience with a 5-day, or 9-day Super pass and join us for the week! We have shuttles spinning every day for riding (excluding February 7th – 8th), and a massive program of race, ride, and social events on offer starting from January 31st.

RED BULL HARDLINE SPECTATING
Red Bull Hardline is a ticketed spectating event, with a range of ticket options available starting from $35 for a standard 2-day pass (Age 5 & Under are free).
A Spectator Pass gives access to the Red Bull Hardline course spectator areas, the event expo, beer garden, food trucks and live music. Spectating is available for Red Bull Hardline on Saturday Feb 7th and Sunday Feb 8th. Passes can be purchased as a 2-day event pass or 1-day “race day only” with added spectator shuttle options available separately.

The Red Bull Hardline Priority Pass is the ultimate way to experience the world’s most progressive mountain bike event! The priority pass elevates the Red Bull Hardline experience over 2-days with:

FINISH BOWL FESTIVAL
SCHEDULE OF BANDS & DJS
The finish bowl festival is set to go OFF with an epic schedule of Indie rockers and Aussie hip hop act, followed by a massive roster of DJs with some special guests to get the party started. The Best bit – entry is FREE with a Hardline race day or 2-day pass.
TICKETS
WALKING ACCESS
A Spectator Pass will provide individuals walking access to the Red Bull Hardline course, spectator areas, the event expo, beer garden, food trucks and live music. Spectator passes can be purchased for access on Saturday February 7th for Red Bull Hardline Seeding and Sunday February 8th for Red Bull Hardline Racing. There is no Spectator Access outside of these days.
RIDING ACCESS
On the Red Bull Hardline seeding (Saturday Feb 7th) and race (Sunday Feb 8th) days, Uplifts will not be available to riders for spectating purposes, or for general bike park access. On bike spectator access (Feb 7 – this is a separate ticketed event) will be available via the climbing trail network, which accesses the course areas up to Midline.
TICKETS
SPECTATOR UPLIFT
On the Red Bull Hardline Seeding and Race days (Feb 7th + Feb 8th), a spectator uplift will be available to transport spectators to the course start (no Midline drop available). The course start is located over 3.5km from the course finish, and is accessible only via rugged, remote hiking trails.
Spectator uplifts must be pre booked.
ACCESSIBILITY
There will be support available to spectators who may need assistance with accessibility to spectate the event. If you require assistance accessing the venue, please contact us.
GETTING HERE
TRANSPORT
The primary method for event access will be by car, accessing the Maydena town via Gordon River Rd. Bus shuttles from Hobart are available daily on Saturday, February 7th and Sunday, February 8th with bookings available for preset bus times. Transport options can be purchased with your spectator tickets.
CAMPING
Self-sufficient camping is available from Feb 3rd – 9th on a private property in National Park located 10 minutes from Maydena Bike Park, offered exclusively to support the event. Limited spots available – online bookings required.
THE BORING STUFF

- NO Pets or animals (excluding registered service/assistance dogs)
- NO Picnic-related equipment including barbeques or other cooking apparatus, excessive amounts of food and/or drinks i.e. picnic hampers
- NO Technical equipment that may interfere with the event i.e. walkie talkies, phone jammers, drones, laser pens, private wireless access points etc.
- NO Temporary furniture/equipment i.e. tents, gazebos, folding tables
- NO Promotional and/or commercial objects or goods with the intent to promote and/or sell at the event
Security will be performing bag searches at entrance gates so please be prepared for this when you arrive.
Any prohibited items found at the gates will be confiscated; perishables will be disposed of and other equipment/items will need to be returned to a safe location prior to entry.
We are unable to provide any storage for confiscated items throughout the event.
TICKETS
- Your ticket provides entry for either a 2-Day Spectator Pass (Saturday & Sunday) or a 1-Day Spectator Race Day pass (Sunday only).
- All passes are digital and can be stored to your phones digital wallet after you make purchase online
- Your tickets will be checked at the front gate of Maydena Bike Park where you will receive a wristband for your event access
- Please arrive with everyone who is on the booking for your tickets
PARKING
- Event parking will be available in Hydro St, on the right hand side before you reach the entrance to Maydena Bike Park.
- Car parking will be monitored by Maydena Bike Park staff
- Please adhere to the directions from parking attendants
- Maydena is a small community, please respect the locals and do not park in the streets in non-event parking locations
- Parking is for day use only, no overnight camping will be permitted
With the influx of visitors to Maydena Bike Park expect parking to be a little more challenging.
PREPARE FOR ALL WEATHER
Red Bull Hardline is an outdoor event in the Maydena Valley so it is important that you come prepared to be fully exposed to the elements!
We strongly recommend the following:
- Extra layers of clothing and waterproofs. Be prepared for changing (and potentially tough) weather conditions.
- Sturdy and/or waterproof footwear. The course is on a steep and rugged mountainside so hiking boots or similar footwear is essential.
- A bag or rucksack. If you plan to head up the course we advise you to bring a small bag/rucksack to carry your belongings. Please note: there will be random bag checks at the entrance.
- A water bottle. It’s important you stay hydrated, especially if you’re heading up the course so please bring one with you to refill.
- Suncream/Hat it’s important that you’ve got protection to keep you safe in the heat.

FAQ’s
Do I need to bring my ticket with me?
Your booking confirmation was sent to you via email at the time of purchase. We recommend adding your tickets to your phone’s digital wallet using the link in your confirmation email. Alternatively, you can download a PDF copy of your pass by clicking the “Print Tickets” button. Please ensure everyone included in the booking is present when collecting your tickets.
What is the age cut off for a Childs ticket?
Child passes are available for ages 15 and under. Kids aged 5 and under are FREE.
What does my ticket get me?
Your ticket will give you entry for the day stated only i.e 2-day Spectator for Saturday & Sunday or 1-day for Sunday only. Access to the Red Bull Hardline event and track outside of these times is not allowed.
What should I wear to the event?
- Be prepared for changing weather conditions so pack everything from waterproofs to sun cream!
- The course is steep and mountainous so hiking boots or similar footwear is essential.
- Please bring a refillable water bottle that you can use at the water stations on site to keep you hydrated throughout the day.

Is there parking available at the event?
Yes, there will be parking available in Maydena a short walk to the event. More details will be available closer to the event.
What parts of the track am I able to see?
A detailed map will be available closer to the event, however you can see last year’s map as an example here.
Can I ride the bike park on Saturday (Feb 7th) or Sunday (Feb 8th)?
No. Uplifts will be available to walking spectators only and there will be no regular riding of the bike park on the Saturday 7th Feb and Sunday 8th Feb.
Can I bring my dog?
As much as we love dogs, they are not permitted on site for the safety of the riders and spectators (with the exception of service dogs).
Can I bring alcohol with me?
No. Alcohol is not permitted unless it has been purchased within the event site. Any alcohol found during bag searches at entrance gates will be confiscated and anyone found to have alcohol on their person that was brought into site will be at risk of being asked to leave the event.
What time can I arrive? What’s the latest I can arrive?
Gates open 8:00am on Saturday & Sunday. Practice and race times differ each day and are subject to change; please check the event schedule section closer to the event date. Gates close daily at 1:30pm in readiness for the event start at 2:00pm.
Am I able to bring food/drink with me? Are picnics allowed?
Small food items will be allowed to be brought on to site, but excessive amounts of food/drink in extra-large containers, and any cooking equipment/appliances such as barbecues, temporary structures etc will not be permitted. Please note: no glass is allowed to be brought onto site.
Is there food and drink available to purchase on site?
- The Maydena Bike Park Cafe will be open from 8:00am – 8:00pm for the duration of the event, featuring its renowned quality of pizzas, salads, bowls and sando’s.
- Multiple bars will be available at the park base and on the course, so you can experience the very best Tasmanian beer, cider, and mixed drinks.
- During the event week, multiple food trucks will be available in the event village.
I am from a media publication can I get accreditation?
If you are a working media personnel from a publication looking to cover Red Bull Hardline in the press, please ensure media accreditation is requested before arrival on site. Applications are available via the link in the resources section at the bottom of this page.
Can I access the Red Bull Hardline outside the Seeding and Race Days?
No. Spectating is only allowed on the Seeding and Race Days. Access to the Red Bull Hardline course for spectators is prohibited outside these times. If you are found on the course during practice or course walk you will be kindly asked to leave.
Can I purchase camping on the day I arrive?
Camping is located 10 minutes from Maydena Bike Park and provided by a third party. Pre-bookings are essential and 2-night camping can be purchased online.

The MAXXIS Maydena Cup is your chance to join some of the world’s fastest racers, on one of Australia’s only world-level downhill race courses!
RELAXED FORMAT, NOT SO RELAXED JUMPS
JUMP JAM
Friday 6th 5pm
A classic jump jam format, just on really big jumps! This event gives riders an allocated time slot to session our brand new freeride zone, with judges picking winners at their discretion for Biggest Whips, Best Style, Best Trick and more.
EVENING APRÈS
LIVE MUSIC, FOOD & MORE
No Maydena event would be complete without some Après. Join us in the evenings for live music and great food after a great day of racing or riding. Featuring local Tasmanian artists, chef’s and brewers you will have the opportunity to sample some of Tasmania’s finest.

KIDS FEST
Saturday 31st Jan & Sunday 1st Feb
We can’t let the adults have all the fun! This is an event just for the kids, with a full-day program of events and activities to suit all abilities.
Saturday Jan 31st will consist of a 3-stage Enduro race down some of Maydena’s best intermediate trails. Followed by Sunday Feb 1st Downhill event, a classic downhill race featuring some of Maydena’s best intermediate gravity trails. Kids can attend both events at a discounted rate or select either day as an option for your child.

DHaRCO Party Lap: Throw on your best party shirt and get ready for a party lap through some of MBP’s best intermediate flow and jump trails with a single summit uplift included, ending at the Jump Jam, just in time to catch the action and cheer on the riders throwing the best tricks.

Remove the hassle from your Red Bull Hardline spectating experience and jump aboard one of the spectator shuttles and book a return journey from Hobart CBD.
ACCOMODATION
CAMPING
We probably don’t need to tell you – accommodation in Maydena is extremely limited! We have worked with a local landowner to develop a camping opportunity located in National Park just 10 min drive from the venue (please note that this offering is provided by a third party).
Camp sites include the below;
- Unpowered site to suit one vehicle and one tent/caravan (up to 21ft)
- Shower and toilet facilities
- Free shuttle bus to/from the venue on Feb 7th and 8th
Campers must comply with the following rules;
- No pets are permitted
- No fires are permitted
- No parties
- No generators, loud music or significant noise between 9pm- 7am
