PRO JAM (incl. Queen Stages on Friday)

The Pro Jam is aimed at more experienced racers and will give competitors the opportunity to race some of MBP’s most technical trails. Pro Jam will attract a strong field of National and International competitors giving experienced riders a weekend of racing with unlimited uplifts laps to set the fastest time, riding primarily black and double black trails. All 4 stages will be Pro Jam only trails with full day laps pushing the pro riders to their limits.

OPEN JAM (incl. Queen Stages on Friday)

The Open Jam is for all racers intermediate and above, racing with 2 stages per day with unlimited uplifts. The stages will be comprised of blue and black trails, mixing in flow and tech to test the gambit of a rider’s abilities. This year we are excited to bring back full day of laps for all Open Jam racers – giving you the opportunity to cut laps all day and set your fastest time.

SAMPLE JAM

Designed for Kids and Beginner to Intermediate level riders, the Sample Jam is the perfect intro to racing for more experienced beginners. With 2 stages over 4hrs of racing using our Lower Mountain Uplift, the racecourse will feature green & blue flow trails. Riders in this category will get a taste of racing in a fun, low-pressure environment and multiple attempts to set times on some of the most fun trails at Maydena Bike Park. (Parents wishing to chaperone their children will be required to register a race entry of their own in the Sample Jam so numbers can be managed)

QUEEN STAGES

As part of our iconic season opener – Summer Sessions & Phat Friday racing, we’re introducing an all-new Queen Stage for 2026. Raced Friday, Nov 27 in a single-run format as the prequel to Gravity Jam weekend, the Queen Stage will also mark the opening Phat Friday race of the season.

But here’s the twist: all Queen Stage race time gaps are DOUBLED – meaning every second gained or lost counts twice.

This isn’t just an extra stage… it’s a game changer and a critical part of the overall race.

SPECTATORS

This year Gravity Jam is not just for the riders. Spectators are welcome to join us for the duration of the event to check out some of Tasmania’s best food and beverage offerings. Spectators can walk or ride into the trail network to catch the action of the international field joining us at this year’s event.

GOPRO VIDEO CONTEST

From Thursday Nov 19, 4 teams will each receive a GoPro Hero and unrestricted access to Maydena Bike Park, the mission is simple- create the best team mountain bike edit, filmed only using their new GoPro. Videos will be 2-3 minutes in length to be presented to a live audience on Saturday Nov 28, at night in the venue. Videos will be 2-3 minutes in length to be presented during the Gravity Jam event. Contestants will be judged on composition, creativity, story and of course the riding. The winning team will score $500 for their efforts!
